Why are your prices listed in USD?
Why we list our expedition prices in U.S. dollars
This Article Applies to all Adventure Canada Small-Ship Expeditions
Although Adventure Canada is proudly Canadian, the small-ship expedition industry operates primarily in U.S. dollars. Most of our major operating costs—including vessel charter, crew, fuel, provisions, and port fees—are paid in USD. Listing our fares in U.S. dollars allows us to offer more stable and consistent pricing throughout the year. In the past, pricing in Canadian dollars exposed our clients to exchange rate fluctuations, unexpected surcharges, and last-minute adjustments. We moved to USD pricing to ensure greater clarity and avoid surprises—feedback from our clients indicated they preferred knowing the complete cost upfront.
We are pleased to offer the option to pay in Canadian dollars for Canadian clients. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
*Some exclusions apply. Select specialty programs, including Haida Gwaii and the Great Bear Rainforest, are priced in Canadian dollars only.
