What medical considerations should I be making?

Preparing for medical needs during remote expeditions

Adventure Canada expeditions travel to remote regions where access to medical care may be limited and facilities may not meet the standards you are accustomed to at home. Before your trip, we will ask you to share some basic medical information so our team can be aware of any important considerations. If you have any health concerns, we encourage you to speak with your healthcare professional in advance of travel.

Our expeditions involve a degree of physical activity. Guests should be comfortable moving around the ship, navigating at least one flight of stairs without assistance, and transferring between the ship and Zodiac landing craft.

It is also a good idea to attend to dental care before your journey. We recommend avoiding travel with temporary fillings, caps, or incomplete dental procedures such as unfinished root canals.

Taking these steps ahead of time can help ensure that you feel comfortable, prepared, and ready to fully enjoy your expedition.
