What kinds of excursions are offered on an Adventure Canada expedition?

Learn about the three types of excursions that make up each day of your expedition

Adventure Canada’s small-ship expeditions are designed to connect people with place through engaging, educational, and entertaining experiences. We offer three main types of excursions—all included in the cost of your expedition:

  • Zodiac Cruises – These safe, sturdy boats are essential for expedition travel, providing access to places with no ports or docks. Zodiac cruises may take you past sea ice, glacier faces, or through inlets and coves. Our expert staff serve as drivers and interpreters, offering insight and storytelling along the way.
  • Expedition Landings – Set foot on remote shorelines to explore the land up close. Landings offer flexibility to move at your own pace or join guided hikes and themed interpretation stations led by our team. Whether you’re after a leisurely stroll or a challenging trek, there are options for different activity levels and interests.
  • Community Visits – With decades of relationships across Canada’s North, we’re welcomed into communities for cultural presentations, traditional games, dancing, food tastings, and opportunities to purchase local crafts. These visits foster connection, mutual learning, and lasting memories.

Each day, your Expedition Leader will brief you on the next day’s plans, including available excursions and their mobility levels. This helps you choose the experience that best suits your interests, comfort, and energy level.
