What is the activity level of an Adventure Canada expedition?

Activity levels and how we accommodate a range of abilities

This Article Applies to all Adventure Canada Small-Ship Expeditions

Adventure Canada expeditions are active journeys, with activity levels that can vary day by day depending on the destination, weather, sea conditions, and the type of landing.

A key part of the experience involves Zodiac transfers from ship to shore. These take place in changing sea conditions and may include wet landings. The safety of our guests is always our top priority, and all operations are carefully managed by our experienced expedition team. Once ashore, terrain is often natural and uneven, including rocks, tundra, mud, or low vegetation. Guests should be comfortable with moderate mobility, steady footing, and moving carefully in these environments.

Each day is different. Some may involve longer, more active outings or full days exploring multiple sites. Others may focus on community visits with opportunities for guided or independent exploration. There are also quieter days on land or at sea, which offer time to rest and enjoy the landscapes and on-board programming.

Our expedition team works closely with guests to support safe and enjoyable landings, offering guidance and assistance throughout. Activity options are often flexible, with both more active and more relaxed choices available.

We encourage guests to be mindful of their mobility and to reach out to our client services team before travelling with any questions or concerns.
