# What is an X-Bow® design?
## A modern ship design that improves comfort and stability at sea.
The *Ocean Victory* features an X-Bow® design.
An X-Bow® is a modern ship design that helps create a smoother and more comfortable journey at sea. Instead of riding up and over waves like a traditional ship, it is shaped to cut through them more gently, reducing motion, noise, and impact. This design is especially beneficial in regions like the Arctic and North Atlantic, where conditions can be unpredictable, allowing the ship to travel more steadily and efficiently while improving overall comfort on board.
