What does emergency medical evacuation coverage mean?

Emergency medical evacuation coverage

This Article Applies to all Adventure Canada Small-Ship Expeditions

Emergency medical evacuation coverage means that if you experience a serious medical emergency during your trip, the cost of transporting you to the nearest appropriate medical facility for treatment is covered by your insurance provider. This type of coverage is often referred to as emergency evacuation or air ambulance coverage.

Because our expeditions travel to remote regions where hospitals may not be nearby, evacuation may involve transportation by helicopter, aircraft, or other specialized medical transport to reach the closest facility capable of providing the care you need.

We recommend confirming with your insurance provider that your policy includes emergency medical evacuation from remote locations and that it covers both the transport and any necessary follow-up treatment.
