Charter flights overview
Learn how our expedition charter flights operate and what to expect
Adventure Canada expeditions often begin or end with a charter flight, which is arranged at the time of booking. These specially organized flights connect remote embarkation or disembarkation points with major cities and are typically not affiliated with commercial airlines. Because they operate differently from regular airline services, you will not receive a personal ticket or seat assignment. Instead, the charter flight will appear on your invoice, and seating is generally open and coordinated by Adventure Canada Expedition Team members.
We use a variety of aircraft such as Boeing 737s, RJ85s, A320s, and ATRs depending on the route and operational requirements. These flights also carry essential provisions and equipment for the voyage. Final flight details, including timing and aircraft type, will be shared in your final documents or at the pre-departure orientation.
Taking our charter flights is highly recommended. If the ship is delayed or rerouted due to weather or ice, the charter flight will be adjusted accordingly. This level of flexibility cannot be guaranteed with independently booked travel.
